HEGSO (Higher Education Graduate Student Organization)

Purpose

HEGSO purposes include aiding members by:

  • providing a support system that includes social, academic, and professional support.
  • complementing academic coursework through topical programs, discussion, and fellowship.
  • providing an orientation to first-year graduate students in higher education.
  • serving as a liaison between students and faculty.

Membership

Membership consists of any ISU students currently enrolled in a Higher Education course. No dues are collected, and all interested students are invited to attend HEGSO meetings and events.

Activities

  • HEGSO activities typically include:
  • Mentoring program between first-year and second-year graduate students
  • Sponsorship of speakers
  • Social gatherings
