The Journal of Critical Thought & PraxisPraxis - practice that is informed by theory; "reflection and action upon the world in order to transform it" (Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of the Oppressed); enabling others, especially the oppressed and marginalized, to acquire critical consciousness and empowering them to struggle for liberation (JCTP) is a peer-reviewed on-line journal committed to providing a space for critical and progressiveCritical and Progressive - analytical inquiry of history, politics, culture, society, and the environment that advocates for progress, change, and reform; promotes new understandings scholarship, practice, and activism. Our mission is to create an accessibleAccessible - committed to providing critical scholarship to the benefit of a wide range of audiences; aims to bridge knowledge in a manner that is engaging and comprehensible to scholars, activists, and professionals engaged in a broad range of social justice work and inter/transdisciplinaryTransdisciplinary - aims to challenge the academic division of labor and silos; primary goals are social transformation and the understanding the complexity of the lived world; a unity of knowledge that extends beyond disciplines journal that supports awareness and challenges individuals to move towards advocacy. Vision
- To become a nationally-recognized journal focused on issues of social justice within a broader understanding of education
